Managing Editor
This is a unique opportunity to lead an innovative and mission-driven virtual newsroom hosting a combination of veteran and newer-to-the field reporters, editors and others. With a smart and dedicated staff, the head of the newsroom nurtures a respectful and collaborative workplace that creates content serving thousands of other media outlets. The ideal candidate has years of commercial (or public) broadcast journalism, demonstrable leadership skills and a proven knack for management. This person is equally at home in the brainstorming and implementation phases, and is highly organized and uncannily good at tracking a myriad of details. In our times, this work is not for the faint-of-heart. Previous successful leaders in this position have been called brilliant and driven and we’re looking for one more thing — the desire, and ability, to help individuals and other news outlets reach their highest potential in service to the overarching goal of justice, compassion and a healthy, sustainable and vibrant democracy in highly turbulent times.
